My interest is
mainly in the 10Y/801A/VT25 tubes on one hand and the 45 on the other hand.
The YO186 also interests me a lot especially after reading your
impressions of it in your circuit and system, but it is a very diffic...

I very much like a few things you did with the frame. I like
that the stack is compact with no wasted space. I like that you have the highs
of your frame higher then you need as if you go for slightly larger MF channel
then you have a frame height...

I am not impressed with that Hornfabrik and I do not see
what they do “right”. The video is expectedly stupid, with the “journalist” do
not know what they are asking and what they hear in response. For instance the small speaker they claim to have ...
I can't go
longer than 2m. Any suggestions about configuration of horn with this length
limit ? May be higher frequency ?
Curve the horn. If you Goto channel will not care
Edgarhorns weren't an obvious choice. Many horns never worked for me. The Avantgardes left me cold. So did the single-driver crowd (I just don't get it....), Altec VOTs, PA systems, etc. But there were some systems th...
i see the words time alignment quiet often in this forum Which is a good thing. But can you show a graph / measure that says what it means in a result?Or do you just mean the woofer is standing next to the mains?Cheers Josh ...

Chris, I certainly did not mean “costs nothing" in the literal sense. I meant that it costs as much as any other driver to make that Feastrex. Come on! If it is an electromagnetic driver then how much does it cost to make a few pounds of core (even i...
Wouldn't you want to try some HF diffusing stuff on your back wall windows? Like wooden plank blinds if you see what I mean? Or you want the reflections to be catched earlier, behind the listening couch?
Nope, it w...

[quote

What will be your suggestion for upper bass
channel using compression driver ?
I do not use compression driver
for bass channel. I would like to have my system esthetically balanced, to get let
say 120H...

I would bet that Romy prefers to sit from mid hall to the back of the hall, as I do, and our penchant for for large orchestral music. Thus, while sitting up front gives the orchestra stage maybe 120 degrees wide, with little hall sound, it tends...

Lately I have been thinking a lot, trying figure out what I
am and where I would like to go with Macondo. The Macondo base, the horns isle
is still there and I have no motivation to change anything. The conceptualizing
and assembling of what I hav...

Actually, I used laser BMS
multiple times, and I found it completely useless. Yes, I perfectly can set up
my horns with laser us and down or left and right, but I found that and my new
difference, if one of the corns will be even inch higher or lo...
If this is the best that your
engineers have to offer, you need better engineers. Bruce Edgar did far better
by himself without those engineers.
Rowuk, you raised two subjects that in my view worth to
cover.

Yesterday I have a great listening time. I sent Amy with twins
to her parents. I put Thomas to sleep in his room and as he woke up I set him
to watch his Caillou for hours and I went to my listening room to have nice quality
time with my playback....
Personally, I would prefer to have the equipment
rack somewhere else in the room but that is just me.
The subject of equipment rack to be in or out is
well debated by be in past. Unquestionably from sonic perspective ...

Yesterday I finalized everything, made the crossovers permanent,
arranged the cables, check the phases and levels per each channel and officially
declared to my wide that the listening room setting up is over. Then as the kids
went to bed I decide...

It is great that Wilson did anything like this, thank for
pointing out. I did not read the article passing 3rd paragraph and stooped

impressions from those people are truly ...
